Monitoring and encouraging ethical behavior in sport, combating anti-sporting and discriminatory attitudes: these are the objectives of the European project Sportboard, which involves Anderlini and the Municipality of Modena together with Sant Cugat Creix (Spain), Sport et Citoyennete (Belgium) and the University Ramon Llull (Spain).
Within this framework, a focus group led by Josep Campos Rius, researcher of teaching methodologies at the Faculty of Exercise Sciences of the Ramon Llull University, took place on Tuesday 6 December at the Anderlini headquarters in via Marconi. The actors of this meeting were coaches, parents, athletes and Anderlini managers, who discussed issues concerning ethics in sport.
The intervention was divided into two groups: the first discussed the relational difficulties often encountered within sports clubs between coaches, athletes and parents, with a specific focus on communication which at times, in the world of sport, can cross the threshold of violence and verbal abuse.
In the second group we focused instead on the reasons for abandoning sports, trying to investigate the reasons by trying to understand if experiences that are not completely positive in terms of relationships can play a role in the drop out phenomenon of young athletes.
With this comparison begins the phase of research and collection of qualitative data with the aim of identifying the main indicators for the analysis of ethical or non-ethical behavior in the sports world.
