With the SportBoard, a path was started to build tools to make informed decisions and facilitate good governance within the field of sport for entities, administrations or related agents.
For the SportBoard, good governance in the sporting field will be defined as achieving positive standards in 4 blocks of behaviour:
- RESPECT. Treat yourself and others respectfully.
-CLEAN GAME Honest and correct behavior.
- HEALTHY SPORTS. Care and establishment of a healthy sport.
- QUALITY. Quality in practice and in the management of sports resources / facilities.
Through the SportBoard APP system, it is intended to develop the capacity of managers, coaches, families, young athletes and facility managers in the observation and analysis of behaviors, behaviors or both ethical and challenging situations produced in the field of the sport, be it during training, competitions or in related situations, both before and after active participation and register it in the application.
In September we started the initial pilot which consisted of the definition of the participation collection flow and the Faculty of Psychology, Education and Sports Sciences of Blanquerna – Ramon Llull University defined more than 300 indicators of distributed behaviors in three levels of applicability.
The final pilot will take place between January and June of this 2024 with the following main objectives:
- Review and improve, with the input of the participants, the functionality and content to make the system useful, intuitive and friendly.
-Obtain the number of participations significant enough for the research team of the Faculty of Psychology, Education and Sports Sciences of Blanquerna – Ramon Llull University to obtain informed conclusions to propose improvement actions based on real data.
-Launch a large-scale sports behavior observatory.
-To become a tool that facilitates the applicability of conduct protocols in children’s and youth sports to clubs / administrations.
-Disclose and disseminate the use of the collection system. Evaluation to other clubs, cities and administrations.
The project will end in Brussels at the end of 2024 where, in a closing ceremony, the conclusions and possibilities of the program will be presented with its implementation in other countries or cities.
